What helped me was using the Cross World Visit feature to head on over to Goblin, a preferred server. I personally happen to be on a congested server, Balmung, and I was experiencing brief disconnects quite frequently. At worst it’s an annoyance but there’s not a whole lot you can do. You’re not banned or anything, the servers are just going through some stress right now. This is quite common around the time of a new expansion release and it is not a big deal if you encounter this. You’ve been booted from the server for a technical issue and you will have to log in again… if you can. So what this error is essentially is a disconnected AKA a DC from the server.
Here’s what you can to try and fix lobby error 5006 in FFXIV. Still though, people are experiencing server congestion and disconnect (DC) issues. There hasn’t been a Raubahn EX moment yet that we have seen.
Granted so far Shadowbringers launch has been smooth compared to other previous launches. It wouldn’t be a new Final Fantasy XIV expansion if there wasn’t some kind of server issues afoot.
